The Kremlin has said US national security adviser John Bolton plans to visit Moscow, without providing details about the trip.

Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter claims that VAR is failing due to a lack of consistency. Blatter was FIFA president from 1998 until being suspended from office in October 2015 in the fallout from USA and Swiss federal investigations of global football officials.

"I don't think they are embarrassed I'm here - they knew I was invited by the head of state and the two presidents (Putin and his successor at FIFA, Gianni Infantino) spoke about it", said Blatter.

"Today I saw Infantino and Blatter at the stadium, it's true", TASS quoted Sorokin as saying.

With the World Cup flying in the face of predictions that it would be a doom and gloom affair, Russian President Vladimir Putin just couldn't resist trolling everyone - well, it is what he does best.

Federation Internationale de Football Association said that Blatter attending Moscow match did not directly constitute a breach of his ban.

Blatter's trip to Russian Federation marks the first time he has left his homeland in three years, and he met with Putin on Tuesday where he said they engaged in "small talk".

Argentine government security official Guillermo Madero, who is in Russian Federation, told The Associated Press that the fan "won't be able to enter stadiums at the tournament and he won't be able to watch World Cup matches". Both men deny any wrongdoing.

"There have been no concrete agreements or understandings, and no specific discussions are being conducted now", the spokesman said at the time. "It was not an easy time for me, it's still not the easiest time".

Blatter, 82, said he had dined with Putin on Wednesday and congratulated him on Russia's organisation. "How I was received here, television, cameras, people, photographs, and so on", he said.

Sepp Blatter has said he will use his "influence" to help a British bid win the right to stage the 2030 World Cup, providing his help is wanted.
