The teacher who stopped a shooting at Noblesville West Middle School Friday said his actions were in his mind"the only acceptable actions
That tragedy was a school shooting at Noblesville West Middle School in IN, about 27 miles north of Indianapolis. After she was asked, Rousey said she be willing to have Seaman walk her to the ring for a match.
When a middle school boy allegedly opened fire at his IN school, the science teacher immediately ran and tackled him to the ground, one student IN the classroom told ABC News.
A police officer assigned to the school was on duty and in the building, according to police, but students say it was Seaman, a former college football player, who subdued the attacker.
Although he has been lauded a hero, Seaman said that he is "a person who isn't looking for attention" and that he "did what [he] did that day" because he "deeply care [s] for [his] students and their well-being". Speaking publicly for the first time since the shooting, the teacher said Saturday that Ella's courage is "nothing short of remarkable".
A student, Ella Whistler, was also shot.
Authorities referred to a prompt and heroic response at the school but didn't confirm accounts of Seaman tackling the student or describe the role of the resource officer who was stationed at the school.

Kim did not ask for US military forces to be withdrawn from the South when he met President Moon on April 27. Allison Hooker, a Korea specialist on the National Security Council, is reportedly also part of the team.
NBC News-affiliate WTHR reported that President Donald Trump called Seaman on Saturday and tweeted, "His quick and automatic action is being talked about all over the world!"
Ethan Stonebraker told ABC News that Seaman "immediately ran at him, swatted a gun out of his hand and tackled him to the ground". Before becoming a high school teacher and coach, Seaman played for the Southern Illinois football team. He was arrested "extremely quickly" following the shooting around 9am Friday, local police Chief Kevin Jowitt said.
The shooting at Noblesville West Middle School happened Friday morning after a student asked to be excused from class, Noblesville police said.
Friday's school shooting follows the deadly attack that killed 10 at Santa Fe High School in Texas.
On Monday, Noblesville Superintendent Beth Niedermeyer said the wounded student was "making progress".
Noblesville High School senior Jackson Ramsey started a crowdfundraising effort for Seaman. And it's an alarming way to end a year marred by school shootings across the country.
