But while the historic meeting was immediately considered a diplomatic breakthrough, especially considering Kim's threats of nuclear warfare and President Trump's boisterous Twitterresponses just a year ago, foreign policy experts are still skeptical that Friday's meeting lead to concrete follow-up actions or firm agreements.
Moon responded by saying Trump should get it.
North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un (L on platform) and South Korea'sPresident Moon Jae-in (R on platform) attend at a welcoming ceremony ahead of the inter-Korean summit at the truce village of Panmunjom, South Korea, on April 27, 2018.
While Trump said "numerous countries" are in the mix, last week he said only two or or three sites are being considered.
Mr Trump also been quick to take credit for the increasing thaw in relations between North and South Korea.
Trump is preparing for his own summit with Kim, which is expected to be held in the next few weeks. It's still unclear exactly when that meeting will happen.
At a White House press conference, Mr. Trump said he spoke to South KoreanPresident Moon Jae-in about the idea, and Mr. Moon has conveyed the proposal to North Korea.

Semenya targeted by new testosterone rules
The IAAF defines athletes with DSD as any female with blood testosterone levels equal to or greater than 5 nmol/L. Athletes would be required to take these hormones up to six months before they will be allowed to compete.
This would be the first time a sitting U.S. President will have met the leader of North Korea since the Korean War.
United States and North Korean officials are still negotiating the timing and location of the possible summit.
"What do you think President Trump had to do with it?"
The idea is yet to sink in to the worldwide community that witnessed tough insults being traded by Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un, with the former responding to the Kim's nuclear threat by tweeting that "I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!" How about, everything - I will tell you what. "And maybe it won't", Trump said last week about his upcoming talks. Trump also came in for praise from Buhari.
"I don't want to sit here and say 'I did this".
US officials said they are viewing these statements carefully; in the past, North Korea's idea of denuclearization has included demands that the USA withdraw its troops from South Korea and pull back its nuclear defense umbrella over the region.
While Moon seems to believe that Trump deserves the credit, there's still a possibility things could change.
But he added, "Just asking!"
"During the summit, the two leaders shared a firm commitment to bring a swift end to the cold war relics of long division and confrontation and move to an era of national reconciliation, peace and prosperity".
