Trump accuses NYT reporter of trying 'to destroy Michael Cohen' so he'll talk to the feds

Stormy Daniels' Lawyer Says He Thinks There Are

"Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble" but "I don't see Michael doing that despite the terrible Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!" the president wrote.

Trump administration appeals decision to block suspected combatant's transfer Top Pruitt aid requested backdate to resignation letter: report MORE on Saturday attacked The New York Times for its reporting on his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, and expressed confidence Cohen will remain loyal to him while under federal investigation.

Cohen is "a fine person with a wonderful family".

The FBI with a warrant earlier this month raided Cohen's home, office and hotel room and seized business records, emails and other documents including the $130,000 payment to porn actress Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels, to stay silent about her relationship with Trump.

But Trump suspected that his longtime lawyer would remain loyal and not help the Russian Federation investigation, which he called a "horrible Witch Hunt". Michael is a businessman for his own account/lawyer who I have always liked & respected.

He re-posted them shortly afterwards with a corrected version of a New York Times reporter's name which he misspelled the first time while criticizing her as "third rate". "Maybe Not Anymore", the president hurled numerous criticisms at The New York Times, which Trump considers a part of the "dishonest media".

Nunberg told CNN's Abby Phillip: "I have no idea who POTUS is talking about so I have no response".

In the tweets, sent shortly after he arrived at one of his Florida golf courses, Trump accused the newspaper of using "non-existent "sources" in a Friday story about the relationship between Trump and Cohen, who has said he would "take a bullet" for his boss.

Last week, The Wall Street journal reported that Jay Goldberg, one of his former lawyers, warned him of the same possibility, telling him: 'Michael will never stand up for you'.

The FBI raid came as special counsel Robert Mueller's probe intensifies its focus on the president's inner circle, as it looks into links between his campaign and Russian Federation and possible obstruction of justice. And under a threat like that, a flip seems likely- something Trump may be trying to avoid by leaping to Cohen's defense on Twitter.
