President Trump hosts a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Abe Wednesday. Pompeo's visit and the tweet provide the strongest sign yet about Trump's willingness to become the first serving USA president ever to meet a North Korean leader, amid a protracted standoff over the North's nuclear and missile programs it pursues in defiance of UNSC resolutions.

As the two men sat for dinner Tuesday, it was revealed that Mike Pompeo, Trump's Central Intelligence Agency director and pick for secretary of state, had traveled to North Korea for preliminary talks with Kim early this month.

Abe's aides hope that the meeting with Trump will showcase the leaders' close personal relationship, as the two summits previous year did.

"As I've said before, there is a bright path available to North Korea when it achieves denuclearization in a complete and verifiable and irreversible way", he added.

During the 40-minute tour, the first lady and Akie Abe also got acquainted with Flagler's private auto, called Railcar No. 91, and wicker wheelchairs that the wealthy used to get around Palm Beach in the early 1900s. North Korea has been crippled by decades of communist rule with the vast majority of its population living is destitution. This is not a problem for the United States.

"I really believe there's a lot of goodwill", he said.

Mr. Trump also noted Pompeo's meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, saying the two got along "really well".

FIFA Ranking: Ghana to 51st with no friendlies
South American football governing body CONMEBOL has asked FIFA to bring forward plans for a World Cup expansion. Likewise, Switzerland, France, Spain, Chile and Poland complete the list of top ten nations in world football.

The two presidents have previously been in sync on all things related to handling Kim, and not receiving the latest memo prior to the Twitter announcements might not jive. "Details of Summit are being worked out now", Trump tweeted. The vast majority of goods enters North Korea from China.

Trade and economic issues were to be addressed on the second day of the summit.

On Tuesday, Trump tweeted that he doesn't "like" the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade pact, which he withdrew the USA from soon after taking office.

The idea of the United States rejoining was received with guarded optimism in Japan. That contrasts with the 50 percent approval rating he enjoyed at the time of his Tokyo summit with Trump in November, soon after leading his ruling party to a landslide election victory.

"Too many contingencies and no way to get out if it doesn't work".

But he says the still dealing with a massive trade deficit with Japan. Bilateral deals are far more efficient, profitable and better for OUR workers.
