Laura Ingraham Apologizes As Advertisers Bail Over Mockery Of Parkland Survivor

His rejection came as eleven companies withdrew their ads from Ingraham's Fox News show after she said in a tweet Wednesday that Hogg had whined about university rejections.

In response to Laura's tweet, David tweeted a list of sponsors for her show The Ingraham Angle, telling followers to choose a number and pay a phone call to one of them to suggest that they un-endorse her.

The teenage activist - who has amassed more than 600,000 Twitter followers since last month's attack - told CNN on Thursday: "She's only apologising after a third of her advertisers pulled out". The Atlantis, Paradise Island resort; Office Depot, Jenny Craig, Hulu, Nutrish, TripAdvisor, Expedia, Wayfair, StitchFix, Nestlé and Johnson & Johnson said they would pull ads from the show.

She noted she was the first to feature Hogg on the air after the shooting that left 17 dead, praising him at the time for his "poise" and for speaking so well and informatively.

"The comments she has made are not consistent with how we feel people should be treated", the company said. She also invited Hogg back on the program to have "a productive discussion".

'It's time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children, ' wrote Hogg. Various advertisers announced they will no longer support Ingraham's show.

Ingraham mocked Hogg on Twitter for not getting into the colleges he applied to.

Nutrish, a pet food company owned by celebrity chef Rachael Ray, also released a statement and said it was in the process of taking its ads from Ingraham's series.

"Laura Ingraham needs a few classes in compassion", tweeted the author Stephen King.

About a dozen advertisers, generally skittish over any social media backlash, have responded by saying they are not running commercials in the show or have canceled future plans to do so.
