Vladimir Putin boasted of Russia's nukes

The United States government said these are false claims and made many people comment about how this is reminiscent of the Cold War arms rivalry.

Vladimir Putin bragged about Russia's supposedly new nuclear capabilities yesterday, but does he really ever envision using them?

The Russian President also threatened during his state of the nation address that any nuclear attack on allies of Moscow is to be considered as an attack on Russia, leading it to make a quick action.

The Russian president shook off the accusations in interview on Friday, calling them "Nothing more than yelling and hollering in the united states congress". The president has come under sharp criticism for not implementing further sanctions against Russian intelligence and military enacted by Congress previous year.

Those accusations directed at Russian Federation came after Putin, in his annual State of the Union address on Thursday, said the country had strengthened its defense capabilities.

In his almost two hour speech, Putin showed tests of a new missile system he said could fly at 20 times the speed of sound and maneuver up and down, and is not owned by any other country.

President Rouhani Calls for Further Iran-Russia-Turkey Talks on Syria
But they have also indirectly worked together in the past, and Turkey represents a common enemy. The paper claimed that under the deal, the YPG had agreed to hand over heavy weapons it holds.

"Give us a document, give us an official request".

He said the creation of the new weapons has made NATO's US -led missile defense "useless", putting an end to what he described as years of Western efforts to sidetrack and weaken Russian Federation. I suspect we were shown an edited clip: "first the mock-up takes off, then another rocket is flying", he said.

"Now they need to take account of a new reality and understand that everything I have said today is not a bluff", said Putin, claiming that the nuclear-powered cruise missile was tested past year and boosts not only a "practically unlimited range" but also advanced maneuverability and speed.

The president has expressed little criticism of Putin publicly since the 2016 election campaign and his inauguration, at times defending Russia's authoritarian leader.

"It was certainly unfortunate to have watched the video animation that depicted a nuclear attack on the United States", she said.

As the weapon name contest went on, Russian officials and lawmakers insisted that Putin's speech wasn't an announcement of a new arms race but a warning to Washington to treat Russia as an equal partner.
