A freeway traffic jam in Los Angeles
After 14 months of avoiding the country's most populous state, the President on Tuesday landed in the Golden State where he will visit the US-Mexico border near San Diego and raise campaign cash at a high-dollar fundraiser in Beverly Hills, near where he owns a home.
During his visit, the president reiterated the importance he granted to that work, one of his main promises during his campaign, because if the wall is not built, 'we will not have a country, ' he said.
Protests are also being planned across the border in Tijuana, Mexico, when Trump will examine the 30-foot-tall prototypes built along the worldwide border to fulfill his signature campaign promise. "The Department will also be available to accommodate any residents who may feel a desire to exercise their First Amendment rights". For example, officials in the past have said border barriers ideally allow agents to see what's happening on the other side, so adversaries can't hide in the shadow of a wall. Such decision represented a victory for Trump, but it did not mean the construction would start immediately, because Congress still has to authorize or allocate funds to begin the project.
"Per the Department of Transportation and the Los Angeles Police Department, downtown Los Angeles is extremely congested due to the Presidential visit. No wall!" Protests were also held on the Mexican side, in Tijuana. "No wall!" near the San Ysidro crossing, where tens of thousands of people enter the USA daily from Tijuana, Mexico, many on their way to work or school in San Diego. This weekend, he focused his weekly radio address on criticizing the state's stance toward undocumented immigrants.
California was designated a "sanctuary state" by Gov.
Several dozen protesters are demonstrating in San Diego outside the nation's busiest border crossing against President Donald Trump and his plans to build more towering barriers on the U.S. -Mexico border.

Donald Trump, Kim Jong Un to hold historic meet
The meeting would be the first of its kind between a leader of North Korea and a sitting president of the United States. North Korea has no role in the latter and the standard for the former involves them *not* taking certain actions.
But upon hearing that he'll travel by helicopter from the Miramar base to the border, organizers of Women's March San Diego announced plans to erect a large sign urging Trump to "build bridges, not walls" with the hope that he'll be able to see it while landing at the nearby prototype site.
"We have a lousy wall now", Trump said. "No wall!" near the San Ysidro border crossing, where tens of thousands of people enter the United States daily from Tijuana, Mexico - many on their way to work or school in San Diego.
"According to the Center for Immigration Studies, the $18 billion wall will pay for itself by curbing the importation of crime, drugs and illegal immigrants who tend to go on the federal dole", Trump tweeted. "THIS MUST STOP!" he wrote. "Traitor", said one. "Moron", said another - a reference to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who reportedly used that term to describe President Trump previous year, and who was abruptly fired earlier Tuesday morning. Kevin Faulconer said a popular cross-border airport terminal connecting San Diego and Tijuana shows that "building bridges has worked wonders".
In Tijuana on Monday afternoon, Trump's impending visit brought much activity to the southern side of the corrugated border fence, lined with a dirt road that is littered with trash and the rusting bodies of abandoned cars. He traveled to Laredo - one of Texas' safest cities - weeks after declaring his candidacy.
In his typical fashion, Trump will cause a lot of headache and then have taxpayers foot the bill, as LAPD puts massive resources into protecting the president. Protests for and against the wall are planned. I said maybe we'll need a new force. The mayor's office said Faulconer, a Republican, has been clear in his opposition to walls along the border, but he did not want to blacklist companies involved in the construction of the prototypes.
San Diego's city council past year passed a resolution opposing Trump's proposed wall. "It's something that he's going to continue to push for".
