Det.-Sgt. Hank Idsinga of the Toronto police updated reporters on the investigation at a news conference on Friday
Earlier this month, police identified Andrew Kinsman in the human remains, using fingerprints.
Police believe Lisowick, of no fixed address, was killed sometime between May 2016 and July 2017. "There's hundreds of outstanding missing persons occurrences that we're looking at".
Meanwhile, police are now investigating what they believe is a murder scene in McArthur's apartment on the 19th floor of his building at 95 Thorncliffe Park Dr. Ten days later, Idsinga announced McArthur had also been charged with with the first-degree murders of Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Mahmudi and Dean Lisowick.
Investigators have searched multiple properties in the Toronto area, including excavating the back yard at the home where the six sets of remains were found. Idsinga said police may return to that scene in warmer weather to see if police dogs have further success in scouring the area. This brings to six the number of charges of the capital crime now attributed to the former landscape contractor.
He said police have also identified at least two properties for potential excavation, but said forensic test results are needed before they can proceed.
McArthur was arrested on January 18, and has made two court appearances to date, via videolink.
