Riyad Mahrez 'not with Leicester City squad ahead of Everton clash'

Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez will not be leaving the King Power to join Manchester City after a deal between the two clubs fell through.

City have ended their pursuit of the Algeria global, Sky Sports News understands, after the two clubs tried for several hours to agree a deal involving cash-plus-player without success on Deadline Day. But it's very likely that this is the case given Leicester rejected three different bids, the latest of £65 million plus a player (either Patrick Roberts or Eliaquim Mangala).

This is the fourth transfer window in which Leicester have said they will allow him to leave.

Meanwhile, Everton are said to be confident of signing centre-back Eliaquim Mangala from City on loan, Sky Sports also reported.

"He played a huge part in Leicester's promotion in his first season".

Pep Guardiola is believed to be targeting a deadline-day move for Mahrez, who has reportedly been the subject of a third bid worth £55m.

Kobo and Walmart in e-reader alliance against Amazon

SARAH SMACKDOWN: Huckabee Sanders ROASTS Flake's 'RIDICULOUS' Temper Tantrum
Marco Rubio, R-Fla., later pushed back on Flake's comments , noting the attacks are a " documented fact ". In response, Sanders chided Flake for his recent trip to Cuba, another communist nation.

"We're still waiting though to hear from Leicester whether that cash sum - and the as-yet unidentified player - will be enough..."

That is because reports suggest one player is close to completing a move to another Premier League club.

Nevertheless, the biggest obstacle to his move will be Leicester and how much they're willing to hold out for.

"As with Alexis Sanchez, the club were not prepared to pay what they thought was over the market value".
