The comment comes on the heels of his surgeon, Dr. James Bradley, telling the Eagles that barring a setback, Wentz should be a participant at some point in training camp. He was on the field at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon throwing before the Eagles played for the first time since he tore two knee ligaments in December. Wentz remained in the game for the remainder of the series, handing the ball off to running back Corey Clement twice, missing a pass to wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and connecting with Jeffery for a touchdown on fourth down.

The connection is strong enough that the Saints legend made sure to take care of his fellow Chaparral before the start of Super Bowl LII. According to Rapoport's sources, "Once it [rehab] crosses the 6 to 8-week threshold (which is where Wentz is now), it becomes like a normal ACL tear".

"The starting quarterback will begin weight-bearing exercises with his brace unlocked for the first time since being placed on injured reserve, a significant step in his rehab as he tries to recover from a torn ACL and LCL", Rapoport reported.

An MVP candidate for the vast majority of the 2017 season, it's now well known that Wentz went down with a devastating torn ACL back in Week 14. Now he looks to ramp up his rehab in preparation for being under center when the Eagles open the 2018 season. Wentz told reporters last week he expects to be ready for Week 1.
