'Racist' H&M hoodie ad Pulled from online after online backlash

- H&M was forced to offer an apology on Monday after posting an online advertisement featuring a black child modeling a sweatshirt reading "Coolest Monkey in the Jungle".

The Roots' Questlove also took to social media to speak out against the offending photo.

The Swedish company removed the ad, which appeared on its United Kingdom site, in response to the backlash. "Do you think this imagery is an appropriate representation of a young black boy?" she added, addressing the retailer. "The entire narrative is a fail for 2018", said the Twitter user.

"This image has now been removed from all H&M channels and we apologise to anyone this may have offended", the company told the Daily News in a terse statement from its Stockholm headquarters. "We believe in diversity and inclusion in all that we do and will be reviewing all our internal policies accordingly to avoid any future issues".

Dexter Neptune wrote: #BlackTwitter h&m is cancelled won't see anymore money from me.

"They removed the picture but are still selling the item". A number of people literally announced their boycott of H&M via Twitter.

This is not the first time that a major company has been skewered for using racist or insensitive advertising.
