Texas Rangers To Investigate Former US Gymnastics Training Site
USA Gymnastics initially agreed to buy the training facility in August 2016 but then backed out of the agreement following an investigation into sexual abuse by former national team doctor Larry Nassar, who worked with the organization for almost three decades before stepping away in 2015.
Abbott added that the Texas Rangers, the state's top criminal investigative unit, and the Walker County Sheriff Office must collaborate on the case because of the far reach of the allegations, which are spread across jurisdictions and state lines.
He also said the athletes who trained at the ranch "deserve to know that no stone is left unturned". "The people of Texas demand, and the victims deserve, nothing less".
Abbott tapped the Texas Rangers, a division of the Texas Department of Public Safety known as the state's preeminent law enforcement agency, to conduct a "full and thorough investigation" into alleged sexual misconduct at Karolyi Ranch located in the Sam Houston National Forest in Walker County.

It also immunizes bank officers and employees from prosecution for performing transactions with pot retailers or cultivators. The state is also exploring allowing use in social club settings.
Several of the women who spoke out about Nassar said he earned their trust by playing the "good cop" alongside demanding and demeaning coaches, including ranch owners and former Olympic coaches Bela and Marta Karolyi.
The Bela Karolyi's Camp posted on its website that it was ending its yearly camp after almost four decaes of "spiriting young gymnasts towards greatness in sport". The entire board of U.S.A. Gymnastics resigned in the wake of the scandal.
"I too am one of the many survivors that was sexually abused by Larry Nassar", Biles wrote in a statement she posted on social media.
"I also didn't tell my fellow teammates because, the times he treated me at the ranch, besides when we were traveling and get treatments in his room, it happened to be in the same room as all of them - a lounge where we would watch TV on a big couch and the treatment tables were behind it", Larson said in court.
U.S.A. Gymnastics cut ties with the ranch earlier this month after a groundswell of criticism of its handling of the Nassar allegations.
