Killed, 15 Injured as Bus Enters Moscow Underground Passage

Horrific CCTV from the scene captured the bus veering off a road and smashing down steps into people.

It happened on Kutuzovsky Avenue, near the Slavyansky Bulvar metro station in Moscow.

Russian authorities say a bus careened off a road and onto steps leading into an underground passageway in Moscow, killing at least four people and leaving 13 others injured.

Police believe the crash wasn't an intentional attack, but caused by a possible mechanical issue or the driver losing control of the vehicle.

Either the vehicle's brakes failed or a auto cut ahead of the bus, causing it to veer off its intended path.

But a year later, Saakashvili accused him of protecting corrupt oligarchs and resigned, moving to the opposition. He acquired Ukrainian citizenship in May 2015 and was appointed governor of Ukraine's southern Odessa region.

The circumstances of the crash are now being investigated, while police are on the scene. Some unconfirmed reports said that more than 15 people were injured in the accident.

Investigators are now looking into whether the smash was down to driving error or a fault with the bus.

A preliminary examination showed the driver of the bus was sober, news agencies said.

Monday was an ordinary working day in Russian Federation, where Christmas is celebrated on January 7.

Ten ambulances, fire brigade officials, and three medivac helicopters were on the scene, agencies reported. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that two of those hospitalized are in critical condition.
