Paine, Marsh, Bancroft in Australia's Ashes squad

Paine's selection for his first Test match in more than seven years - and after he played as a batsman alongside Wade this week for Tasmania - is the headline move, while the decisions to reinstate Marsh and drop Renshaw will also generate heated debate.

England assistant coach Paul Farbrace said his team weren't surprised to see Paine named despite spending seven years in the Test abyss since making his Test debut in 2010, largely due to a run of injuries.

Bancroft comes in for out-of-form opener Matt Renshaw, on the back of his double-century for Western Australia this week, while previously unconsidered 30-year-old South Australia seamer Sayers is likely to be in contention mainly for the pink-ball Test on his home ground in Adelaide.

Bancroft, Paine and Marsh were all strongly-touted during the 24 hours preceding Cricket Australia's official announcement - but Sayers' promotion came from even further left field as an extra seam option alongside Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Jackson Bird.

"Tim was identified as an global player a long time ago and has always been renowned as a very good gloveman, also performing well for us whenever he has represented Australia in any format", national selector Trevor Hohns said.

His career appeared over when he lost his Cricket Australia contract.

"Cameron has been a player of interest to us for some time now", Hohns said.

"I think that will make our whole competition, our whole Australian setup, our Australian side, a lot, lot stronger, if there is good competition for positions".

Google Pixel 2: Burn-In Display Is Not LG's Fault!
This is an issue beyond just phone calls, though, as things such as voice recognition use the same microphones. The smaller, HTC developed Pixel 2 handset has experienced problems of its own, but to a much lesser degree.

Ex-Australia spinner Stuart MacGill slammed the Australian selectors, calling them "morons masquerading as mentors".

"It's no secret that Chadd's inclusion is with a view to the Adelaide Test match", said Hohns. Shaun is playing very well at the moment, having scored consistently in the One-Day Cup and first three rounds of the Sheffield Shield competition.

"Ashes selections ... made by morons masquerading as mentors".

Hohns said Renshaw and Wade needed to rediscover their form at the domestic level.

Marsh most recently played for Australia in India this year, where he averaged under 19.

THE shock selection of Tim Paine for the Gabba Test has filled English hearts with optimism.

Their fast bowling will be led by Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Jackson Bird and Pat Cummins.
