He referenced the Alabama controversy only briefly during an appearance Thursday night in New Hampshire.
Bannon asks, "Now is that a coincidence?"
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey called the Post report "deeply disturbing", but added, "I will hold judgement until we know the facts".
Moore's Democratic challenger, former US attorney Doug Jones, had little to say aside from an eight-word campaign statement: "Roy Moore needs to answer these serious charges".
Judge Roy Mooresaid Friday that while he did date "a number of young ladies" when he returned from the military, he would have never had contact with a 14 year old.
The most serious of these allegations was an on-the-record statement from a woman named Leigh Corfman that Moore, then 32, kissed and inappropriately touched her when she was 14 years old. Three other women interviewed by the Post said Moore, now 70, approached them when they were between the ages of 16 and 18 and he was in his early 30s.
The Moore campaign is denying the Postreport as "the very definition of fake news and intentional defamation".
As of Friday morning, the senators' pictures still appear on the online link to Moore's fundraising appeal. "Moore should not serve in the U.S. Senate". He later attributed the news to "The Obama-Clinton Machine's liberal media lap dogs".
Moore says he refuses to repeat their lies, and he's counting on the help of "God-fearing conservatives like you to stand with me at this critical moment".
"The Moore campaign never asked if they could use Sen".
Trump's 'extreme vetting' has already been 'enhanced'
However, the website notes, the president's responses seem more subdued when it comes to attacks involving non-Muslims. Trump has previously talked about his extreme vetting process following a major terrorist attack.
The embattled candidate has defiantly vowed to stay in the race.
Zeigler said the story has fired up Moore's voting base more than ever and predicted they will turn out on December 12.
Even if he were to drop out, his name would remain on the ballot, officials said.
Under Alabama state law, the ballot can not be changed within 76 days of an election. "I just don't believe Roy Moore would do that".
The question this poll can not really answer is the level of detail about the allegations against Moore that voters absorbed the day they were released - presumably not a lot of Alabamians read the Washington Post - and whether the sheer creepiness of Moore's reported conduct came through. But that didn't stop Alabama Republicans from making him their Senate nominee a year later.
Other Republicans have responded in the wake of The Washington Post story that came out late Thursday. The poll also shows that most Alabamans don't think Moore should step down from the race; only 34.9 per cent say that he ought to do so.
Republicans are attempting to push through their massive tax overhaul by the end of the year and have already advanced the House version of their bill out of committee. Several other Republicans, including Texas Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, and Utah Senator Mike Lee, all of whom endorsed Moore, echoed that sentiment.
Alabama's state auditor, Jim Zeigler, is defending anti-LGBT U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore against allegations of sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl by saying Mary, believed by Christians to be the mother of Jesus Christ, was a teenager when she married her husband, Joseph. "He should immediately step aside and allow the people of Alabama to elect a candidate they can be proud of".
"Most of them will not be shocked", he said, "and will rather be expecting these shenanigans being pulled by the Democrats as standard operating procedure". The age of consent in Alabama, where these events are said to have happened, is 16.
