Google to produce smart speaker with screen to take on the Amazon Echo Show

The Pixel 2 XL in this image is in the "panda" color scheme as you can see.

Google's big fall hardware event is shaping up to be exciting. So looking at the price point and all the recent flagship phones we really can't say that Google Pixel 2 is a bezel-less phone. Now the leakster has posted another set of images which include both Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL. As mentioned above, the main differentiating factor is the display as Pixel 2 flaunts a 5-inch full HD display with a standard aspect ratio of 16:9. The bottom visibly houses a USB Type-C port. The new Pixels will move the iconic Google search bar from the top of the screen to the very bottom of the display, just below the app dock shortcuts.

A leaked images also shows that the Pixel 2 will keep its thick bezels at the top and bottom of the device whilst the Pixel 2 XL appears to have an nearly edge-to-edge screen. However, a new listing on a reseller's website reveals some alleged hardware specifications of the unannounced Pixelbook.

Amazon Echo Is Now A Free Phone

Speaking of carelessness and accidental product confirmations, Walmart made an even bigger mistake, jumping the gun on Google Home Mini pre-orders. Google is expected to unveil a refreshed Daydream VR headset - Daydream View 2, priced at $99. It appears that Google is gearing up to take against the Amazon and release at least one new Home model during the October 4 event. Among those details is the revelation of another Google device supposedly called Clips, a computer accessory of some sort, but one we know nothing about. The report claimed that the Home Mini will offer the same functionalities of Google Assistant-powered smart speaker features as to its larger sib, but at a shrank size.

Design-wise, Google Home Mini is expected to compete with the likes of Amazon's Echo Dot, which is a part of the company's existing line-up of Echo smart speakers. A new leak suggests that there's also going to be a Google Pixelbook.
