Iran nuclear deal: Tehran threatens to 'shred' agreement if US withdraws support

Iran calls for NUCLEAR ACTION against US accusing Washington of 'creating ISIS'

“If Iran is compliant, if the European Union and China and Russian Federation continue to consider that the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) can be applied, then that means the US would have to take unilateral sanctions.,” Pouyanne said in the interview published on Tuesday. "Everyone should know that once again America will receive a slap in its mouth and will be defeated by Iranians".

Earlier in the day, he said that the Trump announcement creates "an opportunity to fix the nuclear agreement and stop Iran's increasing aggression in our region", and suggested that every responsible government should take advantage of the announcement "in order to improve the agreement or abrogate it and, of course, stop Iran's aggression".

And he has decertified the agreement, which means that USA sanctions against Iran which it wiped away can now be reimposed if Congress members aren't happy with tweaks to the deal.

European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini, too, said the 2015 nuclear deal is "working", stressing that the United States can not unilaterally cancel the worldwide agreement.

Khamenei also hit out at Europe, saying Tehran would not accept pressure from European countries over its regional policy and missile programme.

The American leader called for the deal to be amended to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons or intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Tehran has said it seeks only civilian nuclear energy from its enrichment of uranium, and that the program has nothing to do with missile development efforts.

It has called upon the Islamic Republic not to "undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles created to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons".

"The Europeans' following of America's bullying policy is not acceptable for Iran", he said. Iran says it has no such plans.

Total Chief Executive Officer Patrick Pouyanne said in an interview with International Oil Daily the company would examine the consequences of Trump's decision, and if there are any laws that obliges it to withdraw from Iran, then it will comply.
