CoA is also learnt not to be happy with BCCI extending the deadline of application for the head coach post without any prior intimation to them. The deadline for applying for the post is July 9.
However, Prasad denied these rumours, stating instead, that he is more interested in taking over the role of an assistant coach or that of a bowling coach.
Prasad, who played 33 Tests and 162 ODIs for India is now serving as the junior India chief selector but his tenure is about to end in September this year. He has also had experience of coaching junior teams, which would work in his favour.

Sanjay Manjrekar tweeted on Thursday that Virat Kohli should be kept in the loop while appointing new coach.
Kumble had also re-applied for the post but later withdrew it when it emerged that captain Virat Kohli had reservations with the leg-spinner's working style.
Many in the cricket fraternity believe Shastri is the frontrunner for the job, given his successful relationship with Kohli during his tenure as Team India director. The other point being shown to be in Shastri's favour is that he is seen as someone who can explain the team affairs to the administrators with clarity. Before Shastri entered the race this week, Sehwag and Moody were considered to be the favourites. He wanted characters in the team, so he worked on that kind of approach.
"What's important in today's cricket as a leader is to follow the energies within the group. You have to yield to the demands of the group and you have to make sure that each guy is in the best possible space", says Sridhar.
