British police are responding to three incidents across London following reports of a vehicle slamming into pedestrians on the London Bridge.
Nick Brandon of the BTP's force control room said he had received reports of an incident possibly involving a knife and a vehicle.
BBC reporter Holly Jones was at the bridge when the van came through and reported the van veered off the road and into crowds of people. The witness said the van hit five to six people.
NPR's Frank Langfitt says the bridge is closed in both directions and officials are asking people to stay away from the area.
The incident happened on a warm Saturday night in a busy area full of bars and restaurants.
At 11:44 p.m., Metropolitan Policetweeted that officers were also responding to reports of an "incident" in the Vauxhall area, about 2.5 miles southwest of Borough Market, also on the south side of the Thames.
LANGFITT: Absolutely, and I think that coming - three incidents like this, you know, there was a long stretch where London did not face big sort of terrorist attacks.

The prime minister's office says Prime Minister Theresa May is being updated. The patrons sheltered in the basement and police have arrived at the scene, the witness said.

Medics treated people lying injured on the ground near the market as shocked people cried and shouted around them.
Sky News Home Affairs Editor Mark White said: "Certainly reports we're getting suggest that this may be terror related but that is not being confirmed by police at this stage".
"We went outside to the back, there was the gunfire and then we chose to come back in again". It said the blasts were believed to be controlled explosions carried out by police.
