Martha the Mastiff takes the crown

Martha, a Neapolitan mastiff, has been named this year's World's Ugliest Dog.

The 3-year-old Neapolitan Mastiff was a favorite of the Northern California crowd throughout the contest Friday night on a stage at the Sonoma-Marin Fair, where she placed her drooopy face spread across the ground when she was supposed to be showing off.

She beat 13 other dogs for the grand prize, most of whom were classic Chinese Crested pups.

It took several surgeries before she was able to see again, Zindler said.

Along with the prestigious title, Martha won $1,500 dollars (£1,170) and a trip to NY.

In second place was Moe, a Brussels griffon-mix, and in third was Chase, a 14-year-old Chinese crested-harke mix, .
