Malaysian Airline flight MH 128 returns to Melbourne after bomb scare

A Malaysia Airlines plane had to return to the airport after a passenger tried to enter the cockpit.

It said MH128 landed after being airborne for 14 minutes.

"The passenger. claimed to have a bomb".

Andy said he tackled the man, who managed to get back to his feet and run towards the back of the plane, where a group of other male passengers detained him.

"He attempted to gain access to the cockpit and was restrained by passengers and crew", a spokesman said on the Nine Network.

It added: "Following the incident on MH128, the disruptive passenger has been apprehended by airport security".

The man who tried to enter the cockpit was reportedly subdued by other passengers, according to social media reports. The flight landed just after 11.40pm.

In response to the MH128 security incident, Victoria state police in Australia said there as no imminent threat to passengers, staff or public and the investigation was ongoing.

The passengers have disembarked the aircraft in the meantime and have been taken to hotels. Malaysia Airlines has released a full update on the incident on its official Twitter page. The airline wishes to apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Those passengers held the man on the floor "with eight feet" on his head, back and legs, and hog tied him as the flight turned around the returned to Melbourne Airport.
