President Donald Trump fired back at Kathy Griffin today, after the comedian posted a photo of herself holding what appears to be a bloody, severed fake head of the president.
Griffin, 56, who had co-hosted CNN's annual New Year's Eve coverage for the last decade, apologized on Tuesday and said she had asked the celebrity photographer Tyler Shields to remove the picture from the internet.
Griffin drew condemnation from many on social media after posting the original video on Twitter earlier in the day.
"I went too far", she says in her contrite follow-up video.

First lady Melania Trump issued a statement of her own: "As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing".
"Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. I was wrong", she tweeted.
