Celtic's Tomas Rogic celebrates scoring their second goal in the Scottish FA Cup final against Aberdeen.

A little before 5pm yesterday, in the 92nd minute of Celtic's 59th game of the season, something else appeared in the sky: a flash of lightning above "their" end of Hampden, just as Tom Rogic was lining up the shot that won the match and clinched the treble. "The lads were just getting mentally prepared for extra time because Celtic had been on top for 15 minutes".

Jonny Hayes gave Aberdeen a ninth minute lead which was quickly cancelled out by Celtic's Stuart Armstrong two minutes later.

It was the first time in 16 years that Celtic have managed to win all three domestic trophies, and alongside their achievements, Rodgers believes his side can still get better.

"We've come through a league campaign unbeaten and this was always going to be tough".

"I would never grudge anyone celebrating, especially a cup final".

Premiership champions Celtic are big favourites given their fine form under Brendan Rodgers this season, coupled with their outstanding head-to-head record with Aberdeen.

"Of course, we must bring Celtic into this equation as well, and say they are quality".

"We know that if we turn up, we're the best team in Scotland".

Many of those caught up in the chaos were young fans of United States singer Ariana Grande , who had performed at the venue. Kind-hearted Manchester residents also welcomed strangers into their homes to help others stranded.

"If we continue to do our jobs well there may be opportunities in the future, but a lot of things would have to be right for me to consider leaving".

"There was nothing in the game except we lacked a wee bit of legs and impetus to go forward and apply pressure".

Asked directly about the link to Sunderland, McInnes said: "I'm only thinking about winning this game tomorrow".

"To go unbeaten domestically, to get the treble, is just wonderful".

Sinclair has contributed 25 goals and claimed player of the year awards from his team-mates, the Celtic fans, his fellow professionals and the Scottish football writers.

They will discover their first opponents in the qualifiers when the draw is made on 19 June and Rodgers' primary focus is on simply negotiating the three rounds which stand between them and the lucrative group stage.

"I said to the players just before they went out his is a game where you want them to write about it afterwards but you have to make it, you have to make history it doesn't just happen".

"I don't tend to practice saving penalties too much though".
