Home searches across Manchester and beyond have uncovered important items in a fast-moving investigation into the concert bombing that left 22 people dead, Manchester's police chief said Thursday as a diplomatic spat escalated over US leaks about the investigation to the media. That was a change from previous thinking that a bomb-maker might be at large.

"These searches will take several days to complete, as you would expect, therefore there will be some disruption".

Police officers and army personnel had rushed to a street in Hulme after a "suspicious package" was discovered there.

Ahead of her meeting with President Donald Trump in Brussels today, Prime Minister Theresa May said she intends to "make clear" that "intelligence that is shared between our law enforcement agencies must remain secure".
