Al-Sisi heads to Saudi Arabia Sunday to attend Egyptian-Saudi summit

Saudi Arabia's Prince Khaled bin Salman has been appointed as the country's new ambassador to the United States.

On Friday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said the visit would also be a good opportunity to discuss global and regional developments in light of the new USA foreign policies under the Trump administration, especially after El-Sisi's recent visit to Washington.

Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz has issued new royal decrees on Saturday night, announcing several domestic policies and a cabinet reshuffle.

During the upcoming visit, Sisi will meet King Salman, and the two leaders will tackle their different points and how to enhance their ties.

He has been an adviser at the Saudi Embassy in Washington since late previous year.

Prince Khalid replaced Prince Abdullah bin Faisal bin Turkey bin Abdullah Al Saud at the diplomatic post and would be awarded the rank of minister, the Saudi Press Agency reported citing a royal order.

Saudi Arabia supported Egypt with billions of dollars in aid after the ouster of the Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013. After that, the Kingdom suspended oil supplies from Aramco, a state-owned company headed by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, to Egypt for three months without stating clear reasons.

Last Thursday, the Saudi labor ministry announced that foreigners would no longer be allowed to work in Saudi Arabia's numerous shopping malls.

Bloomberg News said from July the Saudi government planned to impose a levy on foreign workers with dependents.

For Saudi males it was 5.7 percent, Jadwa said.

King Salman toured Asia in March that included visits to Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan and China, and resulted in trade and investment deals.
