Briton named suspect with Australian in Bali murder
Indonesian police have arrested an Australian woman and a British man in connection with the alleged murder of a police officer in the tourist resort of Bali.
Haposan Sihombing, Mr Taylor's lawyer, said the couple had been on a date on the beach on Tuesday night but separated to look for a bag which she had lost.
First Inspector Wayan Sudarsa's body was discovered lying on Kuta Beach in front of the Pullman Hotel around 3.30am on Wednesday by hotel security officers, police said.
Mr Schon and Ms Conner have not been named as suspects but immigration officials have been asked to stop them from leaving the country, police said.
They were said to be cuddling on the beach when they noticed her handbag was missing.
Connor's lawyer Erwin Siregar, who also represented Australian Schapelle Corby, said she had signed a document enabling police to detain her for the next 20 days while investigations continued.
"From the forensic lab result, we found two types of blood on the crime scene: the suspect's and the victim's", he said, without specifying whether he was referring to Connor or Taylor.
David Taylor's lawyer said Connor has described him as a "bad cop".
When asked about bite marks Ms Connor had received on her hand and thigh, Mr Siregar said the police officer "bit her".
Sara Connor is escorted by police from a hospital where she was examined
The boyfriend of Australian woman, Sara Connor, has reportedly confessed to hitting a Balinese policeman in the head with binoculars during a struggle on Kuta beach, his lawyer said.
Police previously said witnesses had claimed they saw a man with dreadlocks - like Mr Taylor - arguing with a police officer.
Grand police commissioner Hadi Purnomo said this and other evidence led to the couple being declared murder suspects over the grisly death of Wayan Sudarsa, who was found near a smashed Bintang beer bottle with 42 wounds.
David Taylor, aka DJ Nutzo, has also been determined a suspect in the case.
According to his version of events, Mr Taylor again met up with Ms Connor and they went back to their hotel and checked out the next day, as per their original plan and moved to a hotel at Jimbaran. Apart from a wound to his forehead and leg, the officer's face was covered in sand while his shirt was found unbuttoned and bloodied.
Connor then left Taylor and the police officer, who were still fighting.
He said he had questioned Connor himself and she had said that she was drunk on the night of the murder and did not remember exactly what happened, but admitted to having had an argument with a policeman. "She managed to get away because there were people who helped her after she screamed".
The pair were charged with second degree murder which has a maximum penalty of fifteen years in jail.
